9-Year-Old Actress Quvenzhane Wallis Wins ‘Best Young Actress Award’ at Critics’ Choice Awards

The young and talented actress, Quvenzhane Wallis, won the ‘Best Young Actor/Actress’ Critics’ Choice Award on Thursday for her role in ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild.’

The 9-year-old read her acceptance speech on stage off of her iPhone, which drew many laughs from the audience and said:

“Thanks. Hello. First I would like to thank God for all of my blessings. I would also like to thank all the film critics for this award. “Thanks to Mr Benh Zeitlin and the Court 13 family for thinking I could make a good Hushpuppy. Last to my family, friends, and fans. Good night.”

The young star also met with Director Steven Spielberg at the event.
