Singer Usher’s Eldest Son Hospitalized After Pool Accident
Singer Usher’s eldest son, Usher Raymond V, has been hospitalized after a pool accident that occurred on Monday, August 5.
According to reports, while dad Usher was away from the home, the 5-year-old attempted to retrieve a toy in a pool drain when his arm got stuck. A supervising adult, which some sources say was the boy’s aunt, as well as a maid immediately dove in and tried to free his arm but were unsuccessful.
When they screamed for help, two male employees working inside the house, dove in and freed the child. One of them administered CPR immediately, while ambulances arrived. Usher immediately rushed home, and rode in the ambulance with his son to an Atlanta-area hospital. Usher’s ex-wife and mother of Usher V, Tameka Foster, also rushed to the hospital.
“Tameka got a call from one of Usher’s staff members and rushed to the hospital,” a source said. “She almost collapsed when she heard the news.”
It was just last July, that the family suffered a tragedy when Foster’s 11-year-old son Kile Glover died after being struck by a jet ski while on an inner tube in Georgia’s Lake Lanier.
“She’s still not over Kile, and now this happens,” the source says of Tameka. “She is not going to leave his side now. … We’re all lifting him up in prayer.”
Usher V is one of two children of Usher and ex-wife Tameka. The former couple also have another son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, who is four years old.
