Viola Davis’ Daughter to Make Acting Debut in James Brown Biopic
Looks like actress Viola Davis’ daughter will be following in mommy’s footsteps!
Davis’ three-year-old daughter, Genesis, will be starring in her first acting role in the upcoming James Brown biopic that Davis is directing.
The 48-year-old talked about Genesis’ acting interests on the ‘Ellen’ show.
The actress reveals, “Fortunately or unfortunately the acting bug has already bitten her. She’s gonna be in the James Brown biopic that I’m doing and (director) Tate Taylor is gonna cast her as one of the kids. So we’ve been rehearsing at home because I don’t want her to be fired.”
In fact, her daughter has already picked up a few acting tips from visiting mom at work.
“She says, ‘Mommy, you can’t act. You’ve got to be,'” said Davis about Genesis.
Genesis is the only daughter of Davis with husband Julius Tennon. The couple adopted Genesis as a newborn in 2011.
