Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis has been added to the high-profile cast of the drama film “Fathers and Daughters” alongside Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.

The story follows a woman struggling with relationship issues after growing up with her famous novelist father, played by Russell Crowe. Spencer and Quvenzhané will be joining Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Paul, and Diane Kruger in mid-March when Voltage Productions begins shooting for the film.

Crowe plays the Pulitzer Prize-winning author who raises his young daughter alone after his wife’s death in New York City during the 1980’s. Seyfried plays the daughter as an adult who works with troubled children at a psychiatric clinic, where Quvenzhané is one of her patients. Spencer will play the spirited head of the facility and Kruger will be Crowe’s sister-in-law, who believes he is to blame for her sister’s death.

Spencer is currently shooting the James Brown biopic “Get On Up” with Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis and Dan Aykroyd. Quvenzhané recently wrapped up filming the remake of “Annie” with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
