Disney Announces ‘Frozen’ On Ice Tour

Disney is capitalizing on the success of “Frozen” by transitioning the animated blockbuster into a Disney on Ice production starting in September.

“In our more than 30 years of producing Disney on Ice shows, Feld Entertainment has been waiting for a film like this,” producer Nicole Feld said in a statement. “While it might seem obvious that ‘Frozen’ is well suited for the ice, this Disney on Ice production will touch audiences emotionally through innovative show elements and world-class skating.”

The skating show will require 39 cast members and nine tractor-trailers as it moves around the country for various stops.

“Frozen on Ice” will feature the movie’s hit songs such as the Oscar-winning “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman” as characters Anna, Elsa, Sven and friends have their story told in a live production for the first time.

The tour is scheduled to begin in Orlando, Fla. on September 7.

Tickets for “Frozen On Ice” are now on sale.
