The 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was a night filled with laughs, emotion and honors for television’s most acclaimed series, but who better to sit through endless questions than your significant other?

Actor Don Cheadle brought longtime girlfriend and mother of his two daughters, Bridgid Coulter, as his date for the night. He has been nominated seven times for an Emmy and three consecutive years as an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as marketing consultant Marty Kaan in House of Lies. Although Cheadle lost to The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parson this time around, he won a Golden Globe for the role in 2013.

Angela Bassett made an appearence at various events all weekend with her hubby, Courtney B. Vance, at her side. The actress was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her charachter in thriller series American Horror Story: Coven, but lost to fellow cast member Kathy Bates. The 56-year-old director also shared her thoughts on the upcoming Whitney Houston biopic, which she will be spearheading with American’s Next Top Model star Yaya DaCosta as the title role.

“It felt like it was flowing from the beginning… except me with the learning curve coming from one side of the camera to the other,” Bassett admitted about directing her first movie, but added that controversy could be a good thing if it piques your interest.

Known for his superior talent in photobombing, NBA player Chris Bosh lived up to his title in a white tuxedo jacket paired with black pants and invaded a shot of True Detective star Matthew McConaughey. The elite athlete was accompanied by his beautiful wife of three years, Adrienne Bosh, with whom he recently welcomed a daughter named Dylane Skye Bosh. The two are also parents to two-year-old son Jackson and five-year-old daughter Trinity from Bosh’s previous relationship with Allison Mathis.
