28 Internet Acronyms Parents Probably Don’t Know

Monitoring internet usage for teens may have just gotten a little trickier for parents than they know. Of course, most parents are up to date with commonly used acronyms like “LOL,” “LMAO” and “WYD,” but what about “IWSN,” “GNOC” and “NIFOC” for slang?

Never heard of them? Well, as parent you can only hope to never see them in your teen’s chats because they mean “I want sex now,” “Get naked on camera” and “Naked in front of camera.”

CNN writer Kelly Wallace uncovered the meanings of teen internet slang in her article “28 Internet acronyms every parent should know.” While some of the acronyms are innocent enough, others can be shorthand for sex, drugs and alcohol.
