Quvenzhané Wallis Lands Four-Book Deal

Quvenzhané Wallis is adding author to her already impressive resume.

Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing announced Wednesday it has signed a four-book deal with the young star and will publish starting in 2017.

The deal covers a chapter-book trilogy as well as a picture book written by Wallis, that will be loosely based on her life.

“Reading is very important,” said Wallis of the partnership earlier this week. “It allows people to form a visual experience in their minds of what is going on in the story. I hope all readers enjoy using their imaginations along with me and take a journey into my books.”

The 12-year-old actress for her starring role as Hushpuppy  in Beasts of the Southern Wild. Her widely acclaimed performance made her the youngest ever to receive a best actress Oscar nomination. Most recently, she earned a Golden Globe nomination for her title role performance in Annie.
