Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Welcome Baby Boy
North West is officially a big sister!
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their baby boy early Saturday morning (Dec. 5) in Los Angeles.
The happy couple announced the happy news on Kardashian-West’s website.
“Kim Kardashian West and her husband, Kanye West, welcomed the arrival of their son this morning,” the page read. “Mother and son are doing well.”
The reality star gave birth about three weeks ahead of her due date after having another complicated pregnancy.
She’d previously been diagnosed with placenta accreta, a high-risk condition that causes the placenta to embed deeply into the uterine wall.
Her biggest concern hit just weeks before she was due to give birth when doctors told her the baby was in the wrong position.
“I’ve surrendered to the placenta issues and actually haven’t been thinking too deeply about them lately,” the 35-year-old explained on her blog. “However, my latest concern is that my baby is breech, meaning he’s in the wrong position for childbirth. His head is still up and it’s supposed to be down. He was supposed to turn by 32 weeks.”
The mom was able to have a successful ECV (external cephalic version) procedure, where were able to turn the baby around.
Although she said the procedure was “probably more painful than childbirth,” she added that the “baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section.”
Now that the healthy baby boy is here, the family is able to stress less and enjoy the newest addition to their family.
The second-time parents revealed the name of their new child, nor have they posted any photos of the baby on social media.
Kardashian and West, who married in May 2014, welcomed their first child, daughter North West, in June 2013.
