OWN Employee Reportedly Suing Network for Pregnancy Discrimination

An employee of Oprah’s OWN Network is reportedly suing the company, alleging that she was sexually harassed and discriminated against while she was pregnant.

TMZ reports that Rebecca Taylor, an OWN employee who began working for the network in 2010, claims that her supervisor Nakisha Gowen, was the perpetrator of the abuse. Taylor claims that the harassment started when she got pregnant in 2013 but that she’s been “she’s vague about the allegations during the pregnancy.”

She did provide details about what occurred once her son was born, however. Take a look at what she alleges happened below:

Taylor says once her kid was born, she began pumping breast milk at work. She says Gowan did various things to embarrass her, including approaching her during a company meeting and pretending to squeeze her breasts and then lay her head on them. Taylor says she was “mortified and humiliated.”

She also claims Gowan would talk to her about “tent pole events,” and she insists in the lawsuit Gowan was referring to a man who got an erection “pressing against his clothes and thus making his clothes, such as his pants, look like a tent pole placed against a tent.”
