Lakeith Stanfield black womenAtlanta star Lakeith Stanfield made his deep love and respect of black women clear when another black man felt the need to bad-mouth them to the actor.

Stanfield recently posted a video recounting the story of a conversation that took place between himself and a driver who worked on one of his projects. The driver felt that talking down on black woman would be a great point of conversation, but he picked the wrong man to complain to- Stanfield was having none of it. Read some of what he had to say to the driver, in his own words, below:

“Some dude, one of the drivers who takes us from point A to point B on this project that I’m working on and he’s like, ‘Yo, black women they’re the hardest to deal with man. They’re the most fucked up version of a woman you could …’ I said, ‘Whoa, whoa, wait , you talking to the wrong person man because as far as I’m concerned it’s the most beautiful aspect of black woman is that they’ve been through the most shit you could go through in this country. You know what I mean? They really have been through the most shit and that’s a beautiful thing.’”

Lakeith currently dates black actress Xosha Roquemore (The Mindy Project, G.B.F, Precious), who we’re sure was more than proud of her man for taking a stand.

Watch him recall the entire ordeal, and find out what choice phrase he ended up using to describe men who talk down on black women, in the video below:
