Activist, Actress, and Model Amandla Stenberg can now add singer/director to her resume! The eighteen-year-old performer just released her dreamy cover to Mac DeMarco’s “Let My Baby Stay” for her upcoming film Everything, Everything and it is everything!

Last week, Stenberg teased fans with details of the song on Instagram. She writes,“I sneaky snuck one of my favorite songs, Let My Baby Stay by @macdemarco into a scene in Everything, Everything coming out next week. Thank you to stand up man & pepperoni playboy Mac for blessing our movie with this song. That lil seed blossomed into my own cover of it recorded for the soundtrack and produced by @levenkali.”

The video directed and edited by Stenberg dropped at midnight on VEVO.

Transforming the song originally performed by Mac DeMarco off of his 2014 album Salad Days, the young starlet added her own spin by creating a sultry R&B vibe to the track. The video, which perfectly reflects the tone of the song, is full of vibrant colors and a chic indie/retro style. The first single from Stenberg can also be enjoyed in the soundtrack for her new film. The soundtrack also features tracks from artists including Khalid, The Internet, Anderson .Paak, and Zedd.

Everything, Everything will hit theaters May 19. Until then, check out Amandla’s reinvention of “Let My Baby Stay” below!
