Meet the 7-year-old Kidpreneur Who is Running her Own Food Truck

Last year, Kyleigh McGee from Little Rock, Arkansas ran a successful lemonade stand in her grandparent’s backyard. This year, the 7-year old upgraded and is now running her own food truck. Kyleigh tells ABC News that she thought of the idea after the success of her original lemonade stand.

“We had a lemonade stand in my grandparents’ backyard and we started to make a lot of money with it,” she said. “So I thought, why don’t we have a lemonade stand to bring to events?”

After watching Kyleigh dedicate her time and effort into the lemonade stand all summer long, her mother, Gabrielle Williams, says that she wanted to give her an idea of what it’s like to be an entrepreneur.

“We purchased what used to be a snow cone stand, and we converted it into a lemonade stand,” William said to ABC News.

She also added that the stand offers way more than lemonade, including items like snacks, ice cream, and, their most popular item, a pineapple snow cone that is served in a hollowed out pineapple.

In addition to learning how to become an entrepreneur, the second-grader is learning how to handle responsibilities and how to count and save money. According to Kyleigh, her favorite part about being an entrepreneur is “being the boss and serving people food.”

So what does the future hold for this Kidpreneur? According to her mother, she heard many things from the 7-year old. “I’ve heard her say she wants to be a teacher, a doctor, a singer and a tennis player,” Williams said. “I just tell her whatever you decide to do, you have my support, 100 percent.”

Kyleigh’s mother added that the original plan was to operate the food truck through the summer while she was on summer vacation, however, they’re receiving bookings through December.
