The Lion King fans can rejoice! The 2019 live-action adaptation of the Disney classic has been making strides behind-the-scenes in terms of casting. And this week, the studio has decided to let fans in on the voices of the official cast via Twitter.

Earlier this year, there was speculation that Beyoncé would be voicing the Nala to confirmed casting choice Donald Glover’s Simba. The official announcement posted yesterday (Nov. 1) confirmed that she, indeed, would be the voice of adult Nala, while Broadway actress Shahadi Wright Joseph will portray young Nala. Young actor JD McCrary (who is also the featured artist on the Donald Glover/Childish Gambino song “Terrified”) will play young Simba.

Other casting selections that have been confirmed include South African actor John Kani who will play Rafiki, actor and comedian Eric Andre who will play Azizi, Black Panther actress Florence Kasumba who will play Shenzi, and actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key who will play Kamari – the latter three will play the trio of wise-cracking hyenas. Alfre Woodard will voice Sarabi and Zazu will be voiced by John Oliver.

Previously confirmed roles include the aforementioned Glover (playing adult Simba), Seth Rogan and Billy Eichner as Timon and Pumbaa, and in a reprisal of his role in the original film, James Earle Jones as Mufasa. Chiwetel Ejiofor will voice the film’s villain, Scar.

The film is slated for a 2019 release and will hit theaters July 19, 2019.
