HBO Orders New Series “Euphoria” Starring Zendaya

HBO has ordered a series starring young Hollywood star Zendaya!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series – titled Euphoria – is based on an Israeli series of the same name. Written by Sam Levinson, the 10 episode series will follow a group of high school students as they learn to navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship. The original series, produced by Teddy Productions, was based on a true story of a teenager who was killed during a 2011 nightclub attack in Tel Aviv. The series chronicles the lives of the teens from the club a year after the incident and their path to cope.

Zendaya, who recently starred in The Greatest Showman, will head the cast – which includes several young Hollywood stars like Brian “Astro” Bradley, Sydney Sweeny, Alexa Demie, Storm Reid and Jacob Elordi.

The forthcoming HBO Series will also be getting a star studded production team. Music star Drake will be joining the series as executive producer. Along with the “Gods Plan” rapper  DJ and music producer Future The Prince will serve as executive producer – along with Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. Production of the series will also include creators of the Israeli series; Kevin Turen, Ravi Nandan, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Mirit Toovi, Tmira Yardeni and more. Star of Disney Pete’s Dragon, Augustine Frizzell, will direct the pilot.
